Active in Sudan since 1973, UNFPA is partnering with the Government and civil society for national development and and responding to humanitarian and recovery needs. While the overarching goal is to reduce maternal mortality through improved and equitable access to basic reproductive health services and information, UNFPA supports youth and women’s empowerment. The current Country Programme targets other vulnerable groups, particularly the rural, poor, and displaced communities.
